Genevieve Morton posed for the SI Swimsuit Issue six years in a row. She made her debut in 2010 when she posed for photographer Walter Chin in Palm Springs, Calif. While the years in between took her to Fiji, Zambia, Australia and Switzerland, Morton’s most recent magazine photo shoot found the model traveling to the U.S. Virgin Islands for a unique bodypaint feature in ’15.

While many of her SI Swimsuit features took place at the beach, two in particular—Zambia and Switzerland—provided a unique setting in more rustic terrain.

Morton, who is a self-proclaimed introvert, said that the biggest lesson she’s learned over her career in the modeling industry is to speak up for herself. When it comes to her confidence, however, Morton feels at home in swimwear.

“The first time I posed in a bikini, I felt pretty comfortable. I was confident in my body,” she added. “Sometimes I think I’m more confident in a bikini than I am in regular clothes. I’m definitely more confident in front of the camera than I am in my personal life, which is interesting.”

Today, the 36-year-old South African native continues to model and is an entrepreneur. She’s the founder of Morton Media Management, a brand that aims to empower models, artists and photographers through their art.

Below are eight of our favorite images from Morton’s 2012 photo shoot in Livingstone, Zambia.
