The athlete enjoyed some much-deserved R&R on a recent trip to the British Virgin Islands.

Taking a tropical trip during the winter is always sweet, but it becomes just that much sweeter when it comes on the back end of some hard work. That was definitely the case for Canadian professional tennis player Genie Bouchard, who took to Necker Island in the British Virgin Islands for some much needed rest and relaxation last week.

The athlete set out for the tropical destination directly after her trip to Seville, Spain, the location of this year’s Billie Jean King Cup final. The tournament, which takes place throughout the year, is the most prestigious international team event in women’s tennis, and this year, team Canada (and Bouchard) came out on top. But the hard work certainly called for some time under the sun to relax afterward, and the 29-year-old thus took full advantage of her trip.

In an Instagram carousel that Bouchard shared from her beachside vacation, she gave her followers just a taste of the lovely activities she partook in during her getaway. Between afternoons tanning under the palm trees in her best vibrant bikinis to afternoon snorkeling adventures, the Montreal native really did it all.

“One for the books." she aptly wrote in the caption of her recent post. In addition to the appropriately beachy activities, the island vacation included an incredibly stylish night by the water in her best little white dress.

Bouchard’s trip may have come to an end, but we have no doubt that the memories will last her through the cold weather to come.
