Supermodel Gigi Hadid made her SI Swimsuit debut in 2014 when she was photographed by Ben Watts on the Jersey Shore. The mom of one, who shares her daughter Khai with her singer ex-boyfriend Zayn, returned for a total of three consecutive features with the magazine. She traveled to Kauai, Hawai’i in ’15 and Tahiti in ’16, both with photographer Yu Tsai.

The 28-year-old is a household name in the modeling industry—she’s been the face of campaigns for luxury brands like Fendi, Versace, Moschino, Valentino and Tom Ford, and has graced the cover of numerous editions of Vogue, Elle and Harper’s Bazaar over the years.

The former Victoria’s Secret Angel is also making a name for herself in the fashion world, as the cohost of Next in Fashion and the founder and creative director of luxury knitwear clothing label Guest in Residence.

“I’m really hard on myself. You only have a certain amount of time with the perfect light, and you only have a certain amount of time until the tide goes up and then you’re too deep in the water,” she said while on location in Tahiti with SI Swimsuit. “I was like, ‘I have to get this right. I have to get this right or the moment is going to pass.’ You kind of had to be here to feel the energy of how everyone felt that magic moment.”
