SI Swimsuit alumna and supermodel Gigi Hadid made her debut with the magazine in 2014, when she was photographed on the Jersey Shore by Ben Watts. The 28-year-old returned to the fold the two following years, traveling to Kauai, Hawai’i, and Tahiti, where she posed for visual artist Yu Tsai on both occasions.

The mom of one, who shares her baby girl, Khai, with her ex-boyfriend, singer Zayn Malik, is the founder of luxury label, Guest in Residence, known for its knitwear. She also cohosts Netflix’s reality competition series, Next in Fashion, alongside designer Tan France.

The Los Angeles native, who is of Dutch and Palestinian descent, entered the industry at the mere age of 2, and starred in campaigns for Baby GUESS after being discovered by the brand’s co-founder, Paul Marciano. She was named International Model of the Year in 2016.

“I’ve probably worn almost every type of clothing you could ever wear, and the most bizarre ones, too, like the craziest fastenings, details and technical work,” Hadid said of her understanding of fashion. “I think I understand what works for people in their lives and what they want. We put out every color sample on the floor in rows and I’ll just go quiet and start piecing together little groups, and everyone’s trying to look over my shoulder. I love it. Something I really love is taking obviously-not-cashmere concepts and doing them in cashmere.”
