9 Gorgeous Photos From Hannah Ferguson’s Adventure Along Route 66
While many SI Swimsuit photoshoots take place in a variety of tropical locations throughout the world, some over the years have been rather less conventional locations for a swimwear feature. One such nontraditional locale was the 2015 photoshoot along Route 66.
SI Swim model Hannah Ferguson accompanied Ben Morris and three fellow models—Ashley Smith, Sara Sampaio and Ariel Meredith—on the road trip across the Southern states. Driving along the old highway was something she had done before, “but never like this,” she said while on set.
But all the same, it was familiar for the four-time SI Swim model. “It’s in the South and I’m from Texas, so it’s right up my alley,” she remarked.
The photoshoot was certainly an adventure and allowed for a lot of flexibility in terms of finished products. Rather than picking locations ahead of time, “we’re just driving and whenever we see a place we want to stop and shoot, we’ll pull over and get some good shots,” Ferguson explained of the process.
It also included a lot more activity and movement than other photoshoots normally do. One of their stops along the highway was at the Tent Rocks National Monument in New Mexico, giving the models and crew the chance to go on a hike to capture the perfect picture.
“It’s really really beautiful—just these huge, crazy rocks and mountains,” she said of the location. So they put on their boots and headed outside “in the dust [and] wide open spaces,” she said. “I’m really liking it.”
The final photos certainly give a good glimpse at an unconventional photoshoot and the adventure involved in it. Below are nine stunning photos of Ferguson in various locations along Route 66.
