Hannah Jeter Is a Vision in These 9 Photos From the Islands of Tahiti
American model Hannah Jeter made five consecutive appearances in the SI Swimsuit issue between 2014 and ’17, including a 2015 cover in Walland, Tenn. While they were all idyllic, her most adventurous SI Swimsuit experience must have been her trip to the Islands of Tahiti with photographer Yu Tsai in ’16.
In addition to posing for beautiful snapshots on the beach and standing in the clear blue waters, the model embraced her adventurous side and posed for several underwater pics. Because “the Islands of Tahiti are really known for their crystal clear waters and their scuba diving and their snorkeling,” the team thought it would be perfect place to try capturing photos beneath the water, Jeter said.
The thought of snorkeling made the 33-year-old a little nervous since she had never done it before. “You’re swimming in waters you don’t know,” she explained. “I don’t even know what kind of animals and fish they have out here.” But all of her anxiety dissipated once she got into the water “It’s so beautiful and clear and serene, that’s not even a thought anymore,” she said of the experience.
In the end, it was a really memorable and “cool experience” for the model. “I was super proud of myself,” she noted. “That’s gonna be the shot that I remember for the rest of my life.”
Below are nine of our favorite photos from the trip, including one from Jeter’s underwater snorkeling experience.
Now through Nov. 1, 100% of SI Swimsuit’s portion of proceeds from cover prints purchased here will be donated to the Maui Strong Fund, which is helping to support the people and places of Maui affected by the recent wildfires.
