The fashion world converged at The Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute Benefit in New York City on Monday and at the center of the action was former SI Swimsuit model Hilary Rhoda, who co-hosted Vogue's live stream of the event. The Maryland native, who appeared in three swimsuit issues (2009-11) spoke to Modelinia in advance of the event. Here are some of highlights from the interview:

Beauty essentials she'll bring to the event:"I always have my Estee Lauder lip gloss. They also, make these really cute compacts that are designed with your personal astrology sign, so I carry the little gold Aries compact with me for touch-ups later.  And of course my phone!"

Pre-event rituals before every red carpet outing:"Yes, this morning I went to the gym and that always helps me wake up and get my blood flowing before a big event.  I usually do Tracy Anderson or SoulCycle, either one of those workouts.  Sometimes, for regular events I’ll be coming straight from work, so it’s always different.  I think the most important thing is to just make sure that you feel comfortable and you feel like yourself and you’ll be ready."

Who she's most excited to see:"I am really excited to see Riccardo Tisci and Roony Mara.  Also, Beyonce and Madonna -- she [Madonna] always pulls out at all of the stops!"
