When Jasmyn Wilkins appeared in the 2018 SI Swimsuit Issue as a rookie, the former Miss Georgia USA traveled to Nevis, where she posed in front of photographer Josie Clough’s lens.

Located in the Caribbean, Nevis is an island nation known for its crystal clear waters and sandy beaches, where the 33-year-old modeled several bold monokinis and stunning two-piece swimsuits for her magazine feature.

A few years after her feature, Wilkins told Hamptons.com that posing for the issue was a complete “game changer” in terms of her career trajectory.

“I was able to work with clients that I had only dreamt about shooting for such as Maybelline and Savage x Fenty,” she told the outlet in 2020. “It does help having a big job like SI [Swimsuit] on my resume when it comes to meeting casting directors and photographers. I still get goosebumps when I look at my rookie page on our coffee table. I’m forever grateful for my time with Sports Illustrated and the career boost it provided.”

Today, Wilkins is represented by One Management and LA Models. In addition to SI Swimsuit, she’s worked with notable brands like Soma Intimates and Bandier.

“This milestone in my career has been an absolute dream come true and I’ve worked so hard to get here,” she wrote on Instagram of the feature with SI Swimsuit, while also shouting out the brand’s fellow talent. “Also, MAJOR congratulations in order to the stunning cover model @danielle_herrington_ who is representing SI and especially all women of color so beautifully 💪🏾❤️.”
