Kate Upton pays homage to Marlilyn Monroe in must-see Vanity Fair cover
Just two weeks ago, we wrote about how Kate Upton appeared to be having the summer of a lifetime. The editors of Vanity Fair must've noticed as well. The magazine chose Upton to be the cover girl for its 100th anniversary issue.
In the photos, shot by legendary photographer Annie Leibovitz, Upton channels Marilyn Monroe with retro curls and a satin one-piece. In the cover photo, the two-time SI Swimsuit cover model seductively leans over a birthday cake with a single candle on it. Inside the issue, Upton is seen lounging on the moon, which was the illustration on the original cover of Dress & Vanity Fair from Oct. 1, 1913.
The cover continues Upton's ascent into high-fashion. Since the 2013 swimsuit issue was released in February, Upton has landed covers for the American and Brazilian editions of Vogue and graces the September issue of Elle. In case you forgot how good Upton looks in a bikini, here's a reminder.
