Here’s a hint: the 2023 SI Swimsuit Issue cover model is always prepared to take a dip.

It seems somewhat poetic that 2023 SI Swimsuit Issue cover model Martha Stewart just made a swimwear-related wardrobe confession. Over the weekend, the 82-year-old lifestyle guru told Page Six that instead of wearing underwear, she instead opts for swimsuit bottoms on a regular basis.

“I like bathing suits. I like wearing bathing suits under my clothes just in case I want to go swimming,” Stewart told the outlet while at a luncheon event in Palm Beach, Fla. “Bathing suits are my underwear. I don’t wear any of that structured stuff. No tight lace, no SKIMS for Martha.”

Stewart also shared that her go-to brand is Eres, and that by wearing swimsuits under her clothes, she’s prepared in case she wants to go swimming at a moment’s notice.

Funnily enough, while on location with the SI Swimsuit team in the Dominican Republic for her cover photo shoot with Ruven Afanador, Stewart did in fact rock a swimsuit by Eres. She was photographed in several poses lounging on an outdoor couch in the cream-colored number, which was styled with a cover-up by TORSO CREATIONS and earrings by Cicada.

“When I heard that I was going to be on the cover of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit, I thought, Oh, that’s pretty good, I’m going to be the oldest person I think ever on a cover of Sports Illustrated,” Stewart told us of her historic feature last year. “And I don’t think about age very much, but I thought that this is kind of historic.”
