The (possibly psychic) movie star is, above all else, a loyal friend and mother.

Kourtney Kardashian:Have you ever had a friend interview you before?

Megan Fox: No. I was interviewed by Zach Galifianakis once, who was not a friend, although I would like for him to be one. That was a really weird interview. If I remember, we ended up talking about what would be problematic [if there were] Whole Foods condoms. Like, organic condoms.

KK: Why did you want me to interview you?

MF: I needed a similar energy, somebody who’s like, Yeah, I’m grateful for all these opportunities that come into my life. I just didn’t want anyone with a fake Hollywood energy interviewing me.

KK: I love that. And if I get asked for someone to interview me, I’m going to pick you. How important is it to have a strong group of female friends?

MF:Incredibly important, and I feel like I’ve really grown to realize that more. The way women have to walk through life is so different than how men have to walk through life. And while it is important to have your partner who is also a best friend, if you are a female with a male partner, you’re going to miss a certain type of compassion and understanding and bonding. The way you laugh with your friends is always going to be different. The way you cry with your friends is always going to be different.

KK: What’s the first thing people notice about you?

MF: Anybody who’s been around me for a few minutes will notice that I am pretty deep and rather thoughtful, because I’m not good at having shallow conversations. Anybody who’s been unfortunate to get stuck at my table at an event has ended up going through a total psychological exam, because I don’t know how to just be like, O.K. guys, wow. This event’s so fire. I have to go straight to, How old were you when your parents divorced? Do you have dreams about your dad?

KK: One thing I think people might not know about you is what a great, involved mom you are to your three kids.

MF: I’ve chosen to not ever put them on social media. I’m really proud of my kids. One is like a concert pianist, an amazing artist. And I would love for people to see that. But the first time I shared anything of them, it became this huge news story, because Noah and Bodhi both had long hair. And for whatever reason—even though it was 2018—it was such a big deal. There was a discussion about if I was trying to feminize them or shape their sexuality. And it was such an unnerving, upsetting feeling because I was just posting a gorgeous picture of my beautiful, free, happy children.

KK: What do you want people to most know about you?

MF: Aside from what you said—and thank you for saying that—is that I’ve been fighting this uphill battle my whole career to be perceived as intelligent. When I was a kid this was not something I ever thought would be a question, because if I was a cute kid, I didn’t know it. No one ever told me. But I did know that I was smart. So that was a big tool in my tool belt that I was really confident with. And that was completely stripped from me with fame. It doesn’t matter how many interviews I do or how articulate I may be. It just doesn’t really get me anywhere.

KK: How do you think your friends would describe you?

MF: There would definitely be some kind of discussion
