Mia Kang Put Her Beauty and Strength on Display in These 5 Photos From Mexico

The model’s rookie photoshoot resulted in a fabulous series of tropical photos in 2017.

In 2017, Mia Kang stepped onto the set of an SI Swimsuit photoshoot for her rookie feature. She traveled to Mexico after being declared the brand’s Model Search winner the year prior, which included a photoshoot in the Dominican Republic in 2016.

The 34-year-old put her talent on display on the beaches that played host to her tropical photoshoot. She displayed her strength, too, something she had developed in her time training as a Muay Thai fighter in Thailand. Kang was thrilled for the opportunity to pose for the brand, and she was likewise excited for the chance to pose in front of photographer Ruven Afanador’s lens.

“@ruvenafanador thank you for capturing me. You’re an unbelievable artist and a wonderful human being. Thank you for letting me be me and for seeing beauty in that,” she wrote in an Instagram caption at the time. “I felt so comfortable, beautiful and free in your presence and totally trusted your vision and guidance. It was an honour to work with you and I hope it won’t be the last time. @si_swimsuit #siswim ❤.”

She certainly looked all of those things (comfortable, beautiful and free) in the stunning series of photos that resulted from her time on location. Though Afanador was certainly to thank for his talent behind the camera, she was likewise to be appreciated for her skill and beauty. Here are a few of the photos from Mexico that show just that.
