SI Swimsuit alumna McKenna Berkley was discovered through the Model Search in 2017, and landed a spot in that year’s issue following her breathtaking bodypaint photoshoot in Anguilla. The model worked with photographer Josie Clough and talented makeup artist Joanne Gair, who created the most vibrant and cool blue-green tie-dye swimsuit featuring racy faux cut-outs.

Berkley, who was born in Kansas City, Kans., and grew up in Las Vegas, recognized that her upbringing between the two cities was super unique and different. She added that as a child, she was always up to no good and pretty much “always grounded.”

“There were definitely a lot of parties. It was really fun, but I don’t think it was as crazy as you would think. I do think it was a lot more fun compared to Kansas City and I’m very grateful that I grew up in Las Vegas just because I’ve met a lot of good friends that I’ve stayed close with and I just appreciate my entire experience there,” she shared. “But that’s not to put down Kansas City because I still would consider myself a Kansas City girl at heart.”

The model also revealed that getting the SI Swimsuit call was the most surreal moment and a total “dream come true” experience. In fact, she almost couldn’t believe what she was hearing.

“SI is just such a benchmark for me. It’s so exciting,” she gushed. “It was always such a huge dream, so that fact that it’s in process right now and that it’s happening is just incomprehensible.”

Below are four marvelous photos of Berkley on the beaches of Anguilla.
