Molly Sims Is Helping Make the 60th Anniversary SI Swimsuit Photo Shoot Legendary

The longtime model is returning to the issue for the seventh time this year.

Molly Sims joined the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit family 24 years ago. In 2000, she made her brand debut in Maui, posing in front of photographer Walter Chin’s lens. Between 2000 and ’06, the American model made six total appearances in the annual issue.

She was a staple in those early 2000s features. And now, just about 24 years after her debut, she’s making another appearance.

This year, the magazine is celebrating its 60th anniversary. It’s a big deal, and the surrounding fanfare is fitting for such a big milestone. SI Swimsuit is bringing back a handful of the brand legends, gathering them all at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Fla., to commemorate the brand—and recognize the role they’ve played in making it a success.

Sims is among those joining the fray. And she couldn’t have displayed more excitement for the opportunity. In an Instagram post that she shared at the airport en route to Florida, the model posed in her sleek traveling outfit and sported a big smile as she prepared to head to the party.

“24 years later… @si_swimsuit 60th Anniversary Legends shoot LET’S GOO 😉 lord help me 😂,” she captioned the post.

The excitement may have been mixed with just a touch of nerves, but we don’t think it needed to be. We have no doubt that the 50-year-old will pose for photos that are just as incredible in 2024 as those she did 24 years ago. She’s definitely still got it.
