Molly Sims’s SI Swimsuit Photoshoot in the Adirondacks Left Us Speechless

The American model posed for multiple brand features in the early 2000s, including a stunning one in the mountains of New York.

While you might be most familiar with the tropical settings and idyllic beach locations that make for the stunning backdrops of many of SI Swimsuit’s contemporary photoshoots, they haven’t all taken place on white sand beaches. Between trips to the desert of Chile, Route 66 in the western United States and the mountains of Canada, many of the brand’s past photoshoots have taken place in unique—and stunning—locations.

In fact, of the times that American model Molly Sims has been featured in the annual magazine, the majority of those photoshoots have taken place right here in the U.S. One was in Hawai’i, so still tropical, but the other three took place in landlocked destinations across the country. And the stunningly unique settings made for some memorable appearances.

Her U.S. features brought her to Colorado, Las Vegas and the Adirondacks, N.Y., where she traveled in 2004 with fellow models Carolyn Murphy, Frankie Rayder and Fernanda Motta. There, they each posed on a beautiful lake in the mountains, in various boats, in the water and on a dock.

It was the fifth year that now 50-year-old Sims had been featured in the annual magazine, and it was an incredible one at that. She posed in her vibrant bikinis on a dock in the beautiful New York town as photographer Stewart Shining captured an instantly memorable series of photos.

All these years later, the feature is one that we still can’t get off of our minds. Below are a few of the brilliant photos from the trip.
