Neon String Bikinis Were Julie Henderson’s Uniform in Seychelles

The model posed for the SI Swimsuit Issue each year between 2007 and ’13.

While Julie Henderson made her first SI Swimsuit appearance in the 2007 issue, she returned to the fold each year through ’13. The Texas native double-dipped several years for a total of 11 different features, and her work with the brand took her everywhere from Grenada to Chile to Spain.

In 2012, Henderson traveled to both Desroches Island, Seychelles, and Apalachicola, Fla., with SI Swimsuit and photographers James Macari and Stewart Shining, respectively. While in the East African country, she modeled a number of neon string bikinis that really popped against the white sand beaches and clear blue waters that surrounded Henderson.

Today, she and her husband, Matteo Ferrero, are proud parents of twins. Henderson continues to model and is represented by Established Models. She also works as head of partnerships at Au Naturale Cosmetics, a clean and conscious cosmetics brand that she initially partnered with when it launched in 2014.

“I have long hoped to create a meaningful, modern, fresh cosmetic range that is healthy for women yet fashionable. From the moment I tried Au Naturale Cosmetics, I knew I wanted to work with this company,” she said at the time. “We share the same beauty and personal philosophies that doing something good for your skin, as well as the environment, can still be innovative and deliver outstanding results.”

From modeling to motherhood and everything in between, Henderson always impresses. Below are a few of our favorite snapshots from her SI Swimsuit feature in Seychelles.
