As a former Division I golfer and current instructor, Paige Spiranac knows a thing or two about the game. The media personality took to TikTok recently to offer up her tips on how to hit what she referred to as the “hardest shot in golf.”

“Everyone always dreads that 50-, 60-yard bunker shot,” Spiranac stated in the video. “Here’s one tip that’s really going to help you: take a less lofted club, instead of using a 58 or a 54, take a 50, a pitching wedge, or sometimes even a 9 iron.”

The 30-year-old then demonstrated by expertly hitting her ball out of the bunker on camera. Spiranac wore a white cropped polo tank top and a baby blue high-waisted athleisure mini skirt for the occasion.

“[It’s the] same technique, but less loft is going to help you hit that dreaded bunker shot,” she explained. “It’s that easy.”

Plenty of Spiranac’s 1.5 million followers on the video-based platform chimed in to the comments to thank the one-time SI Swimsuit model for sharing the valuable tip.

“I struggle with fairway bunkers - I’m afraid I’ll over swing and my back foot will slip,” one person admitted.

“thanks for the tip 👍,” someone else added.

“What about making sure not to hit it thin or fat?” another user inquired, to which Spiranac responded, “Getting solid contact is easier with a less lofted club because you don’t have to swing it as hard. It’s a more controlled shot.”
