Actress Ricki Lake is proving that red hot swimwear never goes out of style. The 55-year-old Hairspray star took to Instagram on Feb. 26 to show off a designer swimsuit that she wore on the cover of a May 2007 issue of Us Weekly on her present-day self.

The magazine cover featured a smiling Lake in profile as the headline described the star’s drastic weight loss, in which she went “from size 24 to 4 without surgery.” The second slide depicted Lake in that very same red one-piece swimsuit 17 years later. She snapped a selfie, this time wearing a pair of black platform heels, her short locks swept back away from her face.

“Then and now. 2007-2024,” Lake wrote in her caption. “I held onto this #NormaKamali one- piece for all these years wondering if I would ever be able to wear it again. 💪💥❤️@sashacharninmorrison remember that day?”

Plenty of the Cry Baby star’s 294,000 followers chimed in to the comments section, where they hyped Lake up.

“Looking better than ever!” SI Swimsuit star Paulina Porizkova cheered.

“I love everything about you always. ❤ so beautiful in both and all the ways,” producer Kimberly Van Der Beek added. “But goodness this must feel great and invigorating!”

“So beautiful thru all the ages & stages!” actress Rose Abdoo gushed. “You’re such an inspiration @rickilake ❤️❤️.”

Just a few days prior, Lake posted another Instagram update, in which she shared that she’s lost more than 30 pounds since November.
