Today SI Swimsuit rookie Valentina Sampaio joined GLAAD head of talent Anthony Ramos for a live interview on Instagram. The two sat down to discuss her journey as a trans woman, her rookie shoot for SI Swimsuit and the importance of inclusivity.

GLAAD is a media monitoring organization for the LGBTQ community that helps to ensure fair, accurate and inclusive representation in media. “GLAAD rewrites the script for LGBTQ acceptance. As a dynamic media force, GLAAD tackles tough issues to shape the narrative and provoke dialogue that leads to cultural change. GLAAD protects all that has been accomplished and creates a world where everyone can live the life they love,” notes the organization.

When asked what this moment means for other transgender people, Sampaio replied, “I think it means that all trans people should believe that they can achieve anything that they want to achieve.”
