It’s presently the time of year in which many of us pause to reflect, and it appears that model and influencer Sixtine is doing the very same.

The 25-year-old, who was featured as a rookie in the 2023 SI Swimsuit Issue, took to Instagram on Nov. 22 to share that exactly one year ago today, she found out she was going to be included in the publication. Her photoshoot ended up taking place in Dominica, where she posed for photographer Yu Tsai on her 25th birthday.

“today marks 1 year since i found out i was going to be a 2023 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Rookie and my oh my what a year it’s been 🖤🖤,” she wrote in her caption. “forever grateful for @si_swimsuit for giving me this incredible opportunity as well as a family that i will cherish for years to come, for my agents who believed in me and continue to help me have the career of my dreams, and for all of my best friends, my number one supporters and cheerleaders since the beginning.”

In addition to her words of gratitude, Sixtine shared a carousel of images from her time on location, in which she wore a stunning Mother Nature-inspired swimsuit by NAVY RAY. She also included sweet pics with friends, who surprised her with a heart-shaped cake with “Sixtine SI 2023” written atop it in pink icing.

“You are such an ICON!!! 🙌,” one person gushed in the comments.

“so so proud of you!!! 🙌🙌🙌,” someone else cheered.

“🎉 happy anniversary of what was the start of a great, and well-deserved year for you,” another user added. We couldn’t have said it any better!
