After stepping away from the game of basketball during the 2023 season while on maternity leave, Skylar Diggins-Smith has every intention of returning this year better than ever. Just a few weeks ago, the American pro basketball player announced that she would be making a move from the Phoenix Mercury to the Seattle Storm, which is likewise the landing spot for league star Nneka Ogwumike this coming season.

The WNBA point guard has been working toward her return for months now, and has proven as much in a series of social media posts that have depicted her putting in the work on the court. Her most recent practice video was no different. The 33-year-old just shared a montage of some powerful photos from a recent afternoon on the basketball court.

Each of the photos, which depicted the fierce star honing her craft, were accompanied by the word “consistency,” which she wrote across each.

“It hit different when you’re dangerously disciplined,” she captioned the reel that she shared to her account.

While it’s been some time since Diggins-Smith last took the court for a competition, she doesn’t appear fazed by the interim. If anything, she’s looking forward to the coming season with greater anticipation than ever.

Opening day of the 2024 season is set for May 14. Among the many games set to be played, the day will see the Storm take on the Minnesota Lynx. Until then, we have no doubt Diggins-Smith will be on the court prepping.
