Russian model Tanya Mityushina earned a spot in the 2016 SI Swimsuit issue and traveled to Malta with photographer Ben Watts for a gorgeous seaside feature.

“It was an incredible experience,” Mityushina told Sports Illustrated Now of her time on location. “I didn’t sleep the whole night before [the photoshoot] … I didn’t know what to expect from the shoot, and when I arrived, everyone was so supporting. I really love working with that team. I think it was the best shoot I’ve ever had.”

In addition to appearing in the pages of the SI Swimsuit issue seven years ago, the 30-year-old model also has worked with notable brands such as Frankie’s Bikinis, Intimissimi and Bebe. She’s currently represented by Elite Model Management and has also done work as an actress. Mityushina appeared in 10 Minutes Gone starring Bruce Willis and the 2018 thriller The Row.

As for her work with SI Swimsuit, Mityushina called the moment she found out she was going to be featured in the magazine “indescribable.”

Sports Illustrated is such a big platform to be exposed in, and if you’re a model, it means so much. … It was truly a magical moment for me when I found that I’ll be in the magazine,” she told Fox News magazine at the time.

During her rookie photoshoot with SI Swimsuit, the model posed along the beach and on incredible natural rock formations in a number of stunning looks, including several strappy numbers. Find five of our favorite ensembles from the model’s feature in Malta below.
