These 8 Photos From Shannan Click’s Rookie Photoshoot Are Unreal
Shannan Click moved to Europe at 18-years-old to pursue her dream of modeling. It didn’t take her long to find her footing. In the early 2000s, the one-time SI Swimsuit model made appearances in international editions of Vogue and participated in several Victoria’s Secret fashion shows.
Following her rise in the industry, Click made her SI Swimsuit debut in 2011 at the age of 28. She accompanied photographer Steve Erle to Sentosa Island, Singapore, for her rookie photoshoot with the issue. While there, she caught up with the SI Swimsuit team and reflected on what she loved most about the modeling industry and her experience with the magazine.
“The best part is your world opens up [and] you’re around all of these creative people. [And] I love the traveling,” she said of the benefits of working in the modeling industry. “Going and seeing new places and learning [about] different cultures—it’s fascinating.”
But it’s not all perks, either. “It’s hard work,” she said. “It’s not just about being beautiful, it’s about collaborating with everybody and knowing it’s a team. It takes a lot of energy and a lot of work.”
Though the job is hard work, Click was grateful for the opportunity to work with the SI Swimsuit brand. She spoke highly of the experience, which “allows you to get your name out there,” she remarked. “It’s a career changer.”
Her debut may have opened the doors wider for Click, but she fully intended to ride the wave and see where it took her. The model is now married with two kids, and spends much of her time working as an artist.
