Winnie Harlow Is the Newest Rookie in SI Swimsuit 2019

The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit family just got a little bigger, and we literally can’t contain our excitement! Winnie Harlow is officially a 2019 SI Swimsuit rookie!

Editor MJ Day surprised Winnie during what she thought was just a normal casting call to deliver the big news. And it’s safe to say that the model had no idea that this would be a moment she would remember forever.

A few tears, some hugs, and a whole lot of smiles later, Winnie was still letting the reveal sink in.

“Thank you so much MJ! Thank you everyone at SI! I'm really excited, I can't wait!” she said on the way back to her agency to celebrate.

The Canadian beauty first stepped into the spotlight as a contestant on the twenty-first season America’s Next Top Model and has since taken the fashion industry by storm. From gracing the covers of magazines such as Elle or Harper’s Bazaar, to killing it in countless runway shows, our girl Winnie is a force to be reckoned with. She even walked in her first Victoria's Secret Fashion Show last November.

Not only was she born to model, but Winnie has also become an inspiration to people everywhere. Despite being dignosed with vitiligo, a skin condition that results in patches of the skin losing pigmentation, Winnie has never let the disorder hold her back.

Last year, the model spoke out about how she doesn’t view the condition as something that she suffers from, but instead she is proud to show people that they can succeed despite their differences and that those differences do not define them.

Yes, Winnie! We are SO here for that.
