WNBA Star Skylar Diggins Nailed Her SI Swim Photoshoot in These 6 Pics

Basketball powerhouse Skylar Diggins was featured in the 2014 SI Swimsuit Issue after she traveled to Guana Island, British Virgin Islands, and posed for photographer Adam Franzino. The same year, the Notre Dame graduate was named the WNBA’s Most Improved Player.

“I’ve always wanted to do my best at everything,” Diggins told Yahoo Beauty at the time. “So I’m competitive with myself; I’m always challenging myself to do one more rep or to last one more minute or shoot one more shot. I want to discover a new level of myself in every workout.”

The 33-year-old is a star both on and off the court. In addition to having an Olympic gold medal to her name, Diggins is the proud mom of two. She and her husband, former Notre Dame football player Daniel Smith, welcomed their first child in 2019, and the pro athlete played the entire ’18 WNBA season while pregnant. The couple’s second child was born in May.

In related news, the Phoenix Mercury guard recently revealed on Twitter that she wasn’t able to use any of the team’s facilities or resources while on maternity leave earlier this year. Diggins’s fans, including actress Queen Latifah, quickly came to her defense, noting that “pregnant women or those on maternity leave are still employees of a job and should have access to these areas.”

Whether she’s dominating on the court or standing up for fellow women by sharing her story, Diggins continues to amaze. Below are six of our favorite photos from the WNBA star’s 2014 SI Swimsuit photoshoot.
