Saje Nicole is a Haitian-American model who moved to the United States at the age of 3. Growing up, Saje admired models like Tyra Banks and Heidi Klum who graced the pages of Sports Illustrated and exuded the confidence that she felt she had within. After completing her first year of nursing school, Saje decided to pursue her lifelong dream of becoming a model.

However, that undertaking was anything but effortless. Not only was she forced to overcome the industry’s lack of diversity — specifically regarding women of color —but she also struggled with her own internal body image, which involved negative eating habits to fit into industry standards. Saje, who has a daughter, ultimately conquered the societal pressures placed on her to go into a “traditional career” and followed her modeling ambitions.
