How to Get Emily DiDonato’s Stunning SI Swimsuit 2020 Makeup Look - Swimsuit | SI.com

Christine Cherbonnier is a makeup artist that has worked with SI Swimsuit for almost 7 years. Some of her favorite locations with Swimsuit have been Malta, St. Lucia and Wyoming. In this brand-new Beauty Tutorial Series, Christine takes us though her tips and tricks from the industry, favorite products and skincare routines.

I was so excited, but maybe a little ridiculous to recreate the makeup look I created on Emily DiDonato for the 2020 issue of SI Swimsuit. She is one of the most gorgeous and inspiring faces to paint, so it was a challenge! I couldn't have been more thrilled to have the opportunity to do her makeup for the issue in one of the most beautiful places in the world, Wyoming. I wanted Emily to have an effortless look to her makeup. The scenery around her was so natural and overwhelmingly beautiful that it didn't make sense to do a full-glam look on her. Photographer Ruven Afanador and I both agreed the look should be elevated and feminine without looking overly made up. I used a lot of my go-to products to achieve a natural look on Emily, but we were battling the elements in Wyoming so the makeup had to hold up to dramatic temperature changes, rain, wind and super early makeup applications that had to last through the evening. These products and techniques are my favorites for flawless natural makeup that lasts during location shoots. I don’t think I got even close to Emily’s natural beauty in the end, but I loved reminiscing on our gorgeous trip of a lifetime and recreating this beautiful classic look for you guys!
