The release of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue is something fans look forward to each year. But after the wild ride of 2020, the launch of the 2021 edition had to be over the top. The result was a two-day event dubbed “SI Swimsuit Garden” at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood in Hollywood, Fla., one of the locations featured in the new issue.
A stunning roster of SI Swimsuit rookie and veteran models descended on the guitar-shaped hotel for events and activations from workout demonstrations and beauty pampering to food stands and panels with editor in chief MJ Day. Plus, throughout the weekend, fans attended many of the events, allowing them to meet models like Jasmine Sanders, Camille Kostek and more. The entire celebration culminated with a party featuring a red carpet parade and performances by cover model Megan Thee Stallion as well as Tinashe and Anitta, both of whom were featured in the issue.
Also in attendance were cover model Leyna Bloom, Olivia Culpo, Kate Bock, Emily DiDonato, Josephine Skriver, Lais Ribeiro, Brooks Nader, Kathy Jacobs, Katrina Scott, Haley Kalil, Marquita Pring, Maggie Rawlins and Valentina Sampaio. (Cover model Naomi Osaka was in Tokyo, competing in the Summer Olympics.) This marked the 58th installment of the iconic publication and the event was yet another way to celebrate a group of powerful and diverse women.
