Olympic Athlete Lindsey Vonn’s Best Red Carpet Looks

The retired athlete and three-time SI Swimsuit model has an incredible sense of style.

Retired alpine ski racer Lindsey Vonn is known best for her incredible athletic accomplishments. However, the 39-year-old is not only a three-time Olympic medalist, but also a New York Times best-selling author and a three-time SI Swimsuit model. Even after stepping away from her sport professionally in 2019, Vonn continues to set records. Last January, she became the first woman to ever ski the legendary Streif downhill course in Kitzbühel, Austria, and was the first person to ever take on the challenge at night.

In addition to her athletic prowess, Vonn has an exquisite fashion sense that she regularly displays at red carpet events. Whether she dons (anything but basic) black or something trendy, the Minnesota native always dazzles. Below are just a few of our favorite of Vonn’s red carpet looks in recent memory.

A bold red lip never fails

In mid-December, Vonn opted for a chic black Victoria Beckham dress, which featured long sleeves and a low, open back for the TIME Person of the Year event. With a red lip and curls tossed over one shoulder, she was the picture of fashion-forward. 

Taking New York Fashion Week by storm

Von dressed to impress for the Carolina Herrera show during New York Fashion week last fall. She wore a stunning cape-like top, paired with a matching mini skirt and black-and-white pointed-toe heels, for the occasion.

Sparkling while supporting fellow women

While attending the Caring For Women Dinner put on by the Kering Foundation last September, Vonn opted for a sparkly black spaghetti strap Gucci gown. She smartly accessorized with a small handbag and strappy black heels.

Pretty in pink post-Oscars

This is easily one of our favorite looks of Vonn’s of late. For an Oscars after-party last March, she wore a silky baby pink Gucci ensemble, styled by Kara Cook. The look featured visible undergarments beneath a perfectly tailored suit, which Vonn paired with a small gold purse and pointed-toe black pumps.

Bold and beautiful

While Vonn often embraces solid colors and classic silhouettes on the red carpet, she went bold at the LACMA Art + Film Gala in November of 2022—and we’re quite obsessed with the outcome. Her gold, black and blue striped pantsuit definitely turned heads.

Elegant at the ESPYs

Here’s yet another example of how flattering a light pink hue is on Vonn. She attended the 2022 ESPY Awards in a figure-hugging peach-pink gown, which featured an absolutely stunning low back with ruched detailing.
