2023 SI Swimsuit Issue Cover Model Martha Stewart Divulges Her Secret to a Happy Life

Lifestyle entrepreneur, best-selling author and 2023 SI Swimsuit Issue cover model Martha Stewart attended the magazine’s red carpet event at the Hard Rock Hotel in New York City on March 18. The 81-year-old, who recently became the oldest cover model in the brand’s history, dazzled in a long sleeved golden Jenny Packham dress with a deep V-neckline. 

After posing for solo photos on the red carpet, and a few snaps alongside editor in chief MJ Day, Stewart also hammed it up with fellow cover girls Megan Fox and Kim Petras, as well as Machine Gun Kelly. We caught up with Stewart on the red carpet, who calls the media coverage of her historic achievement “incredible.”

“[The public’s] response is incredible because I think it just tells every woman in the world just to try again. If she’s not feeling great, look in the mirror, try again,” Stewart tells SI Swimsuit exclusively. “I hope we can encourage every woman in the world to feel better about living well.”

Day believes that while each of this year’s four cover models speak to the public in different ways, most everyone connects with Stewart in particular.

“I think we all see ourselves in Martha one way or another,” Day says. “The fact that she hasn’t let her age define her is really something that I certainly want to practice and I think we all could benefit from.”

When it comes to her secret for successful at any age, Stewart credits three things in particular: “Exercise, the green juice every morning, which I'm addicted to, and just clean, good living and happy life,” Stewart shares.

Post-red carpet, Stewart was spotted inside promoting her 19 Cellars chardonnay, which was served to guests at the cocktail hour and after-party event. The 2023 SI Swimsuit Issue launch party continues in Hollywood, Fla., May 19 through 21 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood.
