6 Incredible Photos of Olympian Alex Morgan in Body Paint
Alex Morgan made her SI Swimsuit debut in 2012 when the NWSL star participated in a body paint feature with artist Joanne Gair. She was photographed by Kayt Jones in a New York studio.
The San Diego Wave FC striker returned to the magazine two additional times: first in ’14, after she traveled to Guana Island, British Virgin Islands, and most recently in ’19 after posing for photographer Ben Watts in St. Lucia. The athlete landed one of three SI Swimsuit Issue covers that year.
Morgan is a champion both on and off the soccer field. The two-time Olympic medalist helped lead the U.S. women’s national team to its fourth consecutive SheBelieves Cup victory earlier this year. As of April 1, she became the athlete with the third-most regular season goals in the history of the NWSL.
In addition to being an elite athlete, Morgan is a proud mom. She and her husband, pro soccer player Servando Carrasco, share a 2-year-old daughter, Charlie. She recently created the Alex Morgan Foundation to provide resources to girls and young women that help them become their most confident selves through sports.
“I was really happy and definitely willing to do this,” Morgan said of her body paint feature with SI Swimsuit. “I feel like it was art today that they drew on me. I didn’t feel like I was naked at all.”
She shared that she became more and more comfortable throughout the photo shoot as the day went on. Morgan added that she loved her hair and makeup on set and “couldn’t be more happy” with how the images turned out.
