The Ever-Inspiring Maggie Rawlins Was a Beauty on the Florida Beaches During Her SI Swim Debut
When Maggie Rawlins joined the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit family in 2021, modeling wasn’t her main priority. She had been working as a registered nurse when she was discovered by a fashion scout and encouraged to pursue a modeling career. A few years later, when the pandemic hit, the need for frontline health care workers pulled her back into her former career.
She had been working in the industry for a few years already, though—enough to gain the attention of editor in chief MJ Day and the rest of the SI Swim team. So, she took a brief break from her return to nursing in New York City to return to her newfound passion, making the trip to Hollywood, Fla., for her brand debut.
For Day, the choice was a no-brainer.
“Not only is she an incredibly beautiful model, she is also living proof that it’s never too late to give back to your community,” SI Swim’s editor in chief said of Rawlins. “She returned to her career in nursing when COVID-19 hit, volunteering to work at several hospitals in Queens. As a former pediatric oncology nurse and a COVID frontline warrior, her dedication, commitment and passion towards helping others are the types of traits we love to celebrate and highlight.”
Rawlins proved her passion for nursing during the pandemic and her skill as a model on the beaches of Florida. Though narrowing our list of her dazzling photos wasn’t easy, we did it: below are five of our favorite photos from the trip.
