Katrina Scott Made History With Her SI Swim Photoshoot in St. Croix

Two-time SI Swimsuit model Katrina Scott made history during her sophomore brand feature with photographer Derek Kettela. The 2021 Rookie of the Year returned to the magazine in ’22 and was captured in St. Croix, in the US. Virgin Islands, becoming the first woman to pose for the magazine while visibly pregnant. 

The fitness instructor and Tone It Up cofounder is a mom to two daughters, Isabelle and Colette.

“I’ve learned that our hearts expand, and we find a strength that we never knew we could have. Each day is so challenging, but patience, breathing and knowing it’s just temporary keeps me going. The biggest adjustment has been my time divided between Colette and Bella. I knew it would be hard, but wow,” the Los Angeles native candidly said about parenting. “It’s so important to know that you have so much time to build new strength. We don’t have to go backwards, we can move forward and be stronger than ever before. Forget the snapback… and discover a more beautiful and remarkable YOU!”

Scott, creator of the Live Beautifully online community, has been open about her experience with IVF and shared vulnerable insight about her difficulty with labor.

“It’s so crazy because I feel like I’ve been on my fertility journey while being part of the Sports Illustrated family. They have been there for me through all the ups and downs,” she recalled. “When I first had a miscarriage, the whole team at SI sent the most beautiful arrangement and checked in on me. Then when I walked the runway, I was doing my IVF treatments. And then I was asked to be back in the publication, but pregnant. This is really an SI Swimsuit baby!”
