The cover of SI Swimsuit has seen a number of absolute stars, from the most skilled models to impressive singers. Among them was American rapper Megan Thee Stallion. When she set foot on the beaches of Hollywood, Fla., for her 2021 cover photoshoot, she was fulfilling somewhat of a dream. The Grammy Award winner had certainly proven herself in the music industry, and now she had the chance to flaunt her skill and beauty on the cover of the annual issue. 

“I was the little girl who was looking at the cover of Sports Illustrated like, one day this is going to be me,” she explained of her dream. “And I manifested it.”

Stepping out on the coast of Florida, the rapper couldn’t have asked for a better experience. She brought her characteristic good energy, which was matched by that of photographer James Macari. “Today is so amazing,” she gushed of the overall atmosphere. “The weather is great.”

But more than that, the 28-year-old’s confidence was apparent during her epic feature, a trait that she has become known for on her social media channels. “It is hot girl summer, so it’s only fair that I’m out there doing this,” she joked.

“When I think of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit, I just think of icons. Beautiful, gorgeous, sexy, hot,” she said. That day, Megan became one of those cons she had always looked up to. Here are some of the incredible snaps from that fabulous trip to Florida.
