Pro Lacrosse Player Alex Aust Traded Her Uniform for Stunning Swimwear During Her Photoshoot in Atlantic City

The Team USA gold medalist was a Swim Search finalist in 2021.

Fitness entrepreneur and lacrosse pro athlete Alex Aust was a Swim Search finalist in 2021. The open casting call alumna was photographed by Yu Tsai on a gorgeous beach in Atlantic City.

The Virginia native, who grew up reading SI Swimsuit, remembers Tyra Banks’s 1997 polka dot bikini cover snapshot as her favorite brand moment, and credited it as the main reason she took a leap of faith and applied to be featured in the magazine herself.

“I’ve always seen women confident on the field or court, but then I saw a beautiful, strong, stunning, confident woman in a bikini. My world was turned upside down. I wanted to have the strength and confidence that Tyra had when I was off the field, in all aspects of my life,” the Team USA gold medalist recalled. “I started thinking about what I preach to my young athletes or to women all over and it’s finding strength in vulnerability and unlocking your confidence. How could I not go for my biggest, wildest dreams and not listen to my own advice? I stopped letting the fear of judgment or failure get in the way and decided to put myself out there. And it’s been the best decision of my life, I have not looked back.”

Today, Aust is the co-owner of sports events organization Finish Line Lacrosse and virtual health and fitness community The Sweaat Life.
