We’re all accustomed to the dramatic gowns that take the red carpets during awards show season. They’re typically all unique, yet align with a certain black tie aesthetic. However, sticking to the script is not necessarily the case if you’re Chrissy Teigen.

The American model attended the 66th annual Grammy Awards on Sunday night in a dress that was a far cry from the typical gowns seen at the Los Angeles event. She stepped out in an absolutely stunning black strapless mini dress with a completely dramatic pink taffeta skirt. She paired the Sophie Couture number with an ultra-high pair of pointed black peep-toe heels and a simple pair of oversized earrings. She forwent all other accessories, allowing the dress to speak for itself.

The 38-year-old hit the red carpet in her glamorous ensemble alongside her husband, popular musician and EGOT winner John Legend.

“we really had such a wonderful time. so many incredible women owned the night and it was basically my entire Spotify brought to life,” Teigen wrote in the caption of an Instagram carousel that she shared from the high-fashion evening. In the post, she showed off several angles of her incredible style, which she rounded out with a video of herself posing alongside Legend on the red carpet.

She may not have worn the most conventional dress for the show (by which we mean that it wasn’t a full-length gown), but Teigen’s unique pick couldn’t have been better. After all, you’ll never catch us complaining about a good dramatic fashion moment.
