4 Incredible Female-Owned Swimwear and Fashion Brands Proving Women Do It All
Although here at SI Swimsuit we believe that every month is Women’s Month, March is officially recognized as Women’s History Month, dedicating the much-deserved time to celebrate the contributions of women everywhere. So, we decided there is no better time to highlight a few of our favorite women-owned swimwear and fashion brands. From timeless and vintage-inspired jewelry to floral swimsuits that are both bold yet feminine, the women at the helm of these brands are prime examples of how women can do anything that they set their minds to.
JADE Swim
Jade Swim is not only a female black-owned business but also a 100% women-led company—from owner to warehouse team and everything in between. Founded in 2017 by Brittany Kozerski-Freeney, the brand has since become an SI swimsuit staple for high-quality and minimal swimwear.
SAME
SAME, the designer swimwear line founded by Shea Marie, offers some of the most fashion-forward suits on the market. Shea Marie had a vision for a new era of swim, and she managed to create just that. One of the brand’s most recent collections ‘La Vie en Rose’ is the perfect showcase of this, with suits boasting delicately handcrafted roses. As affirmed by Miley, we can (and should) buy ourselves flowers… especially when they’re on swimsuits. And to further our point that women can do it all, Shea Marie did not stop there, launching a collection of luxury wellness and skincare products, The Feelist, in 2020.
Year of Ours
The female-created activewear and lifestyle company, Year of Ours, is another brand creating style-forward yet functional designs. The brand was co-founded by Eleanor Haycock and Lily Shin, who were longtime colleagues that were determined to offer women high-quality athletic wear. Focused on empowering women through flattering and inclusive styles, the brand offers clothing that compliments anyone, with sizing ranging from XS-2X. And, to our delight, the brand has recently expanded into swimwear, launching the first collection just this month, with a second drop expected in April.
Aurem Collective
Jewelry is a girl’s best friend and Cass Dimicco, the founder of Aureum, knew just how to create a brand that ends the (what felt like) never-ending hunt for everyday jewelry pieces. Dimicco founded Aureum out of her New York City apartment with only eight pieces in the collection. Since then, the brand has grown into a go-to destination for vintage-inspired pieces that add the perfect final touch to any outfit.
