It’s mid-October, and our thoughts are bent solidly toward all things fall and Halloween. We’ve recently been running through our potential costume ideas in our heads, trying to strike the perfect balance of fun and glamorous. And we’re not the only ones with the end-of-month holiday on our minds.

Actress Lucy Hale has managed to combine her penchant for high-fashion—which brought her to the likes of likes of both Milan and Paris fashion weeks—with her finest spooky season garb, inspiring us to put a more elegant spin on our own costumes of choice. She stepped out on a city rooftop in the most glamorous black sweetheart neckline bralette complete with a black hood from Yves Saint Laurent. She paired it with a matching fitted floor length skirt with a dramatic flared hem, likewise from YSL.

“you better work, witch,” Hale joked in the caption of photos she shared to her Instagram. The actress paired the upscale set with a complementary pair of chic black sunglasses.

It may still be a couple of weeks out from the late October holiday, but Hale clearly has spooky season on her mind. And though it may not be her plan, we’re convinced her witch-inspired set could make for the perfect elevated Halloween outfit. Even if she won’t follow her own lead come the 31st, we might. A stylish witch costume might be just the thing for a timeless and classy adult Halloween celebration.
