Monday Hair Inspiration Courtesy of Jamea Lynee

Find out how this SI Swim Search finalist perfects her curls.

SI Swim Search finalist Jamea Lynee is “goals” in many ways, gorgeous hair included. After seeing Jamea's recent Instagram selfie, I felt compelled to get her secrets for bouncy beautiful curls to share with everyone. The people need to know!

“There is a lot that goes into play, but having the right products and learning what works best with your hair is really important,” says Jamea. She admits that curly hair is a lot to deal with and notes that everyone has to figure out their own routine and what products work for them. She shared with us her routine and favorite products.SHIAussie Miracle Moist Shampoo, Aussie Miracle Moist Conditioner, OGX Renewing + Ara

Washing:

“I only need to wash my hair once a week. And let’s be honest, the dirtier the hair the better it looks,” she says. (That's a statement I can get behind.) “Shampoos and conditioners that are moisturizing and hydrating are key to keeping curls healthy. I massage my scalp with shampoo to decrease tangling, then use a Denman detangling brush while the conditioner is in. You should always detangle with a conditioner! This tip is your best friend.”

Styling:

“I like to let my hair air-dry. Wrapping my hair up in a soft cotton T-shirt to soak up most of the water works best for me. Once it’s dry, it’s all about the pick comb. It's a serious necessity to achieve big hair without brushing out all of the curls and having them look like a big bush! I have my ends trimmed monthly as well to keep them fresh.”

Treatments:

“I do a deep conditioning treatment every other week. I also use leave in conditioners while my hair is in a bun to get some extra hydration.”
