Selena Gomez dressed the part to host the Inaugural Rare Impact Fund Benefit gala in Los Angeles on Oct. 4. The event was held to support the actress-singer’s mental health fund of the same name, which aims to raise $100 million over the course of 10 years in order to provide mental health services and educational programs to youth.

To walk the event’s red carpet, Gomez donned a custom sparkly Maison Valentino gown, which featured a halter neckline and sparkly three-dimensional floral applique. Her ensemble, styled by Erin Walsh, was accented with minimal jewelry—the Only Murders in the Building star opted for statement earrings and otherwise let her dress speak for itself.

Gomez debuted a new lob haircut at the event, styled by Marissa Marino, while makeup artist Melissa Murdick opted for fluffy brows, lined eyes and a nude lip, which she achieved using Rare Beauty products.

Gomez also wore a custom hand-embroidered Rahul Mishra gown during the evening, which itself was a work of art. The purple mini dress featured three-dimensional petal-like detailing.

The evening’s auction included experiential events like Taylor Swift concert tickets, a movie night with Paul Rudd and more, with funds benefitting the Rare Impact Fund. While speaking with Access Hollywood on the red carpet, Gomez noted that while she was nervous for the main event, she was excited to help others through a cause that’s important to her.

“I just want people to be able to have the resources and the tools that I’m able to have and I want to give back as much as I can,” she stated.
