Standout Makeup of the Met Gala
The day after the Met Gala is designated for careful inspection (and debate) of red carpet lewks. Aside from who the attendees were and what they wore, we get a closer look at the beauty which often tells a story of it’s own. This year many veered away from tame looks, and instead embraced out-of-the-box designs. These are some of the best makeup looks we saw:
Barbie Ferreira did the impossible Monday night. Ferreira pulled the 90’s, low arched, overplucked, thin brow. Combined with sweeping purple eyeshadow, this look was one of the best of the night.
If Lil Nas X knows one thing, it's how to make a statement. Along with his eloquently executed outfit changes, the singer rocked a thin gold accent along the corner of each eye. This simple look spoke volumes.
Lupita Nyong'o took our outfit dreams to the next level. Matching her eye shadow to a Versace denim gown fit the theme of American fashion to a T.
Who said creepy can't be cute? Hunter Schafer accompanied an arachnid face accessory with white-out contact lenses to serve a red carpet look we won’t forget. We found our Halloween costume inspo, that's for sure.
Rihanna’s plum hued lipstick is the sign we needed to usher in fall beauty in full force.
As if you needed a reason to rewatch the Twilight series, here it is. Kristen Stewart stood out with a 50’s inspired look completed by her soft pink eye.
If creativity was a person it would be Erykah Badu. This two-tone eyeshadow look added the perfect pop of color to her black-and-white ensemble, all finished off with what looked like gold dripping from her lips.
Feminine and edgy—a balance hard to achieve—Storm Reid was glowing on the red carpet. Tiny pearls accented her eyes in a geometric design that was nothing short of angelic.
