Name someone you associate with the SI Swimsuit Issue. Some might instantly call out supermodels like Kate Upton, Tyra Banks and Christie Brinkley. But 2024 rookie Brittany Mahomes thinks of all the “incredible athletes” she grew up watching over the years who have also graced the pages of the SI Swimsuit Issue.

“Just seeing elite athletes go out of their comfort zone [and pose for the magazine] is so inspiring!” says the NWSL’s Kansas City Current co-owner. The 28-year-old Texas native makes her SI Swimsuit debut this spring in the 60th anniversary edition, after being photographed by Derek Kettela in San Pedro Ambergris Caye, Belize.

The mom of two shares her kids, daughter Sterling Skye and son Patrick “Bronze” Lavon, with her high school sweetheart husband, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. The two tied the knot in Hawai’i in 2022.

“I think I align perfectly with SI Swimsuit’s vision because I am unapologetically always myself in any setting,” Mahomes says. “I want women to feel empowered to always be yourself, love yourself, and feel confident in whatever you do and I think SI Swimsuit does, too.”
