8 Astounding Photos From Duckie Thot’s Rookie SI Swim Photoshoot in Montenegro

The South Sudanese-Australian model returned to the fold again this year.

Duckie Thot was photographed by James Macari in Montenegro.

Though Duckie Thot was a rookie in last year’s SI Swimsuit Issue, the South Sudanese-Australian model has been in the industry for much longer. She’s been a finalist on Australia’s Next Top Model, walked the runway for Yeezy and was previously the face of Fenty Beauty.

Thot traveled to Montenegro for her brand feature last year, where she posed for photographer James Macari in a number of stunning swimwear looks. She returned to the fold this year and traveled to Puerto Rico, where she worked with Derek Kettela. Of her second SI Swimsuit experience, Thot wrote on Instagram in May, “So excited to be back for my second year with the @si_swimsuit team! Thank you for having me again… 🤎.”

With so much success under her belt at the age of 27, it’s hard to believe that Thot has ever experienced failure, but like us all, she’s only human. While participating in a panel discussion during last year’s 2022 SI Swimsuit Issue launch, Thot opened up about the “awkward” and “uncomfortable” nature of failure.

“I think that you should trust your gut and just know that if that’s the path that you’ve chosen, and you fully believe in it, it will come to you,” Thot added of her outlook.

We’re so glad Thot has graced the pages of the SI Swimsuit Issue two years in a row, and are throwing it back to her first brand feature with the eight stunning images below.
