Living by the coast has many perks—fresh seafood, ocean air, scenic views. Sports Illustrated Swimsuit rookie Ellie Thumann is busy enjoying them all and making the case for embracing a coastal life.

In a recent TikTok reel, the model shared a taste of what her South Carolina coastal life entails. The 21-year-old woke up early to watch sunrise on the beach and made sure to document the experience for her dedicated following.

“5am morning did not disappoint,” the YouTuber captioned the reel she shared with her 797,000 followers, capturing her early morning by the water. Thumann sported her summer whites for the beach trip, featuring a fabulous and sweet white eyelet underwire bikini top, a pair of sheer shorts with ruffle detailing and an unbuttoned white button down. She paired it with white slides and accessorized with a pair of simple hoop earrings and a handful of statement rings adorning her fingers.

In her chic tan quilted beach bag, the model carried a book and journal for early morning reading and reflecting. Perched on a towel on the beach, she sipped on an iced coffee as she watched the waves roll in and the sun rise over the beautiful Atlantic Ocean.

Summer in the South is not quite over, and Thumann—who made her SI Swim debut in Puerto Rico this year—is taking full advantage of the lingering warm weather, taking in the summer sun from sunrise on.
