Fans React to Brittany Mahomes Being Named 2024 SI Swimsuit Rookie

The former college and pro soccer player will be featured in this year’s 60th anniversary issue.

Brittany Mahomes is SI Swimsuit’s newest 2024 rookie. When the news was revealed this morning, fans immediately began hyping the Kansas City Current co-owner up—and the compliments over the first look from her photo shoot with Derek Kettela in San Pedro Ambergris Caye, Belize, just keep coming.

The 28-year-old Texas native recently traveled to Central America with the SI Swimsuit team for her feature, a moment Mahomes describes as being both incredibly “thankful” and “grateful” for.

When the exciting rookie announcement hit Instagram this morning, the comments section on SI Swimsuit’s post was quickly flooded with celebratory feedback for Mahomes, an entrepreneur and proud mom of two.

“Love it!!! She’s not just a ‘football wife,’” one user stated emphatically. “She’s a queen making her name known on her own and empowering girls everywhere. ❤.”

“Are you kidding me!?! Love watching you shine!! 🔥🔥🔥,” friend and clothing designer Kristin Juszczyk gushed.

“Glad to see the support. You’re setting a great example for your kids that you are continuing to build your own brand and have your own accomplishments that you can be proud of, independent from your husband,” another fan wrote. “You look fantastic and vibrant and confident. 👏❤ good for you, Brittany!”

“Maaaaajor 🔥 welcome to the family @brittanylynne 😘,” five-time SI Swimsuit star Hunter McGrady cheered. 

By being featured in the 60th anniversary Swimsuit Issue and sharing her own story, including the work she’s doing to propel the CPKC Stadium project and how she uses her platform to uplift other women, Mahomes hopes to inspire other people to reach for their own dreams.

She reiterated her message in an Instagram story on Thursday, with an empowering message atop one of her SI Swimsuit photos: “I’m here to tell you people will dislike you, people will love you,” she wrote. “Don’t let any of that define you. KEEP SHINING and being YOU ✨.”
