Katie Austin Reveals Her Favorite Suit From Her 2023 SI Swim Photoshoot

The three-time brand star is the reigning co-Rookie of the Year.

Katie Austin wore a ton of stunning swimsuits during this year’s photoshoot with James Macari in the Dominican Republic. With a selection full of fun colors, floral prints and unique silhouettes, it was hard for the three-time SI Swimsuit model to pick just one favorite bikini.

The fitness influencer and fellow model Christen Harper were named co-Rookies of the Year together last October. The BFF duo also co-won the Swim Search open casting call alongside each other in 2021.

“Which swimsuit was your favorite from your shoot this year?” Harper, 30, asked Austin in a Q&A-style game of Jenga during Miami Swim Week last month. “You had a lot of good ones. Your suits this year were my favorite that you wore in all of your shoots.”

“Gosh, that’s hard. I’m trying to remember …,” the 29-year-old responded. She first said a crochet watermelon print bikini from Chloe Rose was her fave, but then switched her answer to a stringy blue-and-white floral two-piece from Andi Bagus.

Harper added that the blue floral was her favorite too, because of how “cool and different” it was, but she also loved a dainty yellow one from Montce, featuring a halter top, high-leg bottoms and a matching thin cardigan.

“My favorite shot of you is the black-and-white striped one, I really liked that shot,” Harper added.

During this year’s SI Swimsuit Issue launch week, Austin said her favorite part of the brand, and what most people might not realize, is that “nothing is a competition” amongst the women.

“That’s the coolest part about it, truly. Especially like me and Christen Harper, we won together. She is my actual best friend,” she gushed. “I want the best for her, and I want the best for everyone else. We support each other so much because we all are so unique. It’s so genuine.”
