Lauren Chan Advocates for LGBTQ+ Rights on the Swim Week Runway
Lauren Chan hit the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Runway Show at the W South Beach for Miami Swim Week on Friday, July 7, wearing Pursuit the Label, which she accessorized with a statement bag, and vintage Ralph Lauren.
A rookie in the 2023 SI Swimsuit Issue, Chan was photographed by James Macari in the Dominican Republic. The styling on set was inspired by the trendy Barbiecore aesthetic, so the looks Chan wore on set featured lots of pink, as well as other bright colors and fun prints.

Miami Swim Week showcases the latest and hottest swimwear trends from the top designers and brands worldwide. Attendees can enjoy fashion shows, open bar events, special gifts and more.
SI Swimsuit’s festivities began earlier in the day with a brunch and panel discussion featuring female entrepreneurs, including Nicole Williams English, a rookie in the 2023 SI Swimsuit Issue. Later, cover girl Brooks Nader did a live makeup demonstration with DIBS, a cruelty-free and vegan brand, while guests enjoyed piercing activations, courtesy of Electric Picks, and complimentary scalp massages from Divi.
While this was Chan’s first-ever feature in the SI Swimsuit Issue, she’s no stranger to the fashion industry. A former fashion writer for outlets like Vogue and Interview, the Canadian model went on to become the fashion features editor at Glamour, where she focused on a plus-size beat. Chan is also an entrepreneur: she’s the founder of Henning, an ethical and sustainable brand of size-inclusive luxury womenswear that was acquired by Universal Standard this spring. She now serves as the company’s head of brand partnerships.
