Leyna Bloom Is Astounding in Black Designer Gown at 2023 SI Swimsuit Issue Launch Party

Back for her third year with the magazine, the model stole the show on Friday night.

Leyna Bloom sure knows how to work a room, and the SI Swimsuit model did just that at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood on Friday night. 

The three-time franchise star hit Friday’s red carpet event in Hollywood, Fla., and absolutely dazzled in a black form-fitting gown by Lia Stublla. The gorgeous number featured a single off-the-shoulder strap and a hip-high slit on one leg. Stylist Margot Zamet paired the monochromatic look with gold earrings and an incredible pair of black-and-gold heels.

Bloom returns to the 2023 SI Swimsuit Issue after her historic cover in ’21, the same year in which she made her debut. After posing for photographer Yu Tsai in Tampa, the model and actress became the first transgender woman to ever land the cover of the annual magazine.

Last year, Bloom reunited with the same visual artist in Belize for her sophomore photo shoot with the franchise. She traveled to Dominica for the 2023 SI Swimsuit Issue with Amanda Pratt, and Bloom exclusively shared with SI Swimsuit that she requested working with a female photographer for this year’s feature.

“I wanted to shoot with a woman from a woman's point of view, and honestly, I looked at all [of Pratt’s] photos and I was like, yes, thank you,” Bloom tells SI Swimsuit.

The two are already planning to work together again, and the model expresses that the conversations and connections forged within the industry, like the ties she’s developed with Pratt, are just as important as the resulting images themselves.

“Women working together from different walks of life, from different parts of the world, and taking images [so] that the world can see that we're connected,” Bloom shares.

The celebration in Hollywood, Fla., continues through the weekend, as the 2023 SI Swimsuit Issue launch festivities go through Sunday, May 21, and include activities, celebrity guests and live entertainment. Click here to learn more.
