Leyna Bloom

Leyna Bloom is a force of nature: an actress, model, dancer, activist and professionally trained hairstylist and makeup artist. She made history during her SI Swimsuit debut in 2021, when she became the magazine’s first transgender cover model. Bloom was also the first transgender woman of color to appear in Vogue India, in ’17 and the only trans model to walk the runway at Paris Fashion Week, in the fall of ’19, working for Tommy Hilfiger x Zendaya. The Illinois native made her feature film acting debut in Martin Scorsese’s Port Authority, which premiered at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival, making it the first entry in the festival’s 72-year history to feature a trans woman of color in a leading role.

Over the course of the past 15 years, she has modeled for several major brands and fashion designers, including Dior, H&M, Moschino and Tommy Hilfiger.

When Bloom is not working in fashion and modeling, she is a public speaker and passionate activist. She has spoken at Ivy League schools about the importance of diversity and inclusion in the entertainment industry and climate change. She strives to have purpose over popularity with every opportunity, and uses her platform to advocate for minority populations and fight for equal opportunities for everyone.
