Leyna Bloom is a force of nature: an actress, model, dancer, activist and professionally trained hairstylist and makeup artist. She made her SI Swimsuit debut in 2021 and landed the cover the same year, becoming the magazine’s first transgender cover model. Bloom was also the first transgender woman of color to appear in Vogue India, in ’17 and the only trans model to walk the runway at the Paris Fashion Week, in the fall of ’19, working for Tommy Hilfiger x Zendaya.

Born in Chicago, Bloom made her feature film acting debut in Port Authority, which premiered at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival, making it the first entry in the festival’s 72-year history to feature a trans woman of color in a leading role. Bloom has continued to pursue her acting career with appearances in the FX series Pose and the 2021 film Asking for It.
