Leyna Bloom Returns for the 2023 SI Swimsuit Issue in Bold, Jaw-Dropping Looks

Leyna Bloom returns to the 2023 SI Swimsuit Issue after posing for photographer Amanda Pratt in Dominica. This year marks her third appearance with the franchise, as she made her debut in 2021 and landed a historic cover the same year.

Known for its natural beauty, Dominica boasts a lush landscape of mountains, beaches and rainforests. Bloom’s styling on location brought an eclectic and futuristic energy to the Caribbean island where natural earthy tones were met with the model’s bold looks. The Chicago native sported a dazzling royal blue swimsuit with gold accent features from Rosina~Mae.

The singer, actress, dancer and activist has paved the way for a more inclusive environment in the fashion industry. She became the first transgender woman of color to grace the cover of Vogue India in 2017 and, two years later, became the only transgender model to walk the runway during Paris Fashion Week. With her SI Swimsuit Issue debut, Bloom became the first transgender woman to be featured on the magazine’s cover.
